Training
Divine Intervention Home Care’s senior management staff members understand that the more competent a carer is, the more likely they are to be able to provide the level of care we expect and which will meet the wishes of individuals. At Divine Intervention, we believe that training our staff as thoroughly as possible is crucial to our success.
Prior to going out to deliver care in the homes of our service users, we ensure that all our care workers are equipped with the right skills, knowledge and experience. New recruits go through our in-house Induction and Training.
In terms of carers’ verification, we take up references and check the Disclosure and Barring Service for every support carer’s suitability.
All our Support Carers do undertake a set of training courses including:
- Health & Safety
- Food Hygiene
- Infection Control
- Fire Safety
- Medication
- First Aid
- Moving and Handling Technique
When we employ a new care worker, they undergo a comprehensive training schedule where they are educated in all mandatory aspects such as manual moving and handling, first aid, food hygiene, challenging behaviour and health and safety. We also provide training based on the recommendations from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Our Registered Manager monitors and reviews all care workers weekly to check performance and ensure that communication channels are maintained throughout the organisation.
